Frequently Asked Questions

  • Which Types of prescription medications are offered?
GLP-1 medications like Ozempic, Wegovy (Semaglutide) and Mounjaro (Tirzepatide) are prescription medications that have helped millions of people lose weight with never before seen results. GLP-1 medications have been shown to lead to weight loss on average between 15% to 20% of a person's overall weight. These results rival that of bariatric surgery. Unfortunately, most patients have found that their insurance company will not pay for these medications unless they are currently diabetic and have several other health conditions. These brand name medications come at an extremely high cost (Between $900 to $1,600 monthly) making them unobtainable for many people that could greatly benefit from their use. Furthermore, even for people that have been able to get them covered by insurance, there has been a shortage of these medications and patients have been unable to get them from their pharmacy. Fortunately, compounded versions of these medications are available with a prescription from a healthcare provider. Compounding medications help patients have access to the active ingredients in these medications at a fraction of the cost.
  • What is compounding?
Drug compounding is the process of combining, mixing, or altering ingredients to create a medication tailored to the needs of an individual patient. Compounding includes the combining of two or more drugs. When a drug is in shortage, compounders may be able to prepare a compounded version of that drug if they meet certain requirements in the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic (FD&C) Act. As of May 2023, Ozempic and Wegovy are both listed on FDA’s Drug Shortages list.
  • Why not purchase medications from an online vendor?
All over social media you can find companies promising to mail GLP-1 medications to your home, sometimes at what seems like extremely low pricing, however many of these “programs” require a membership which requires you to provide credit card information so that the company can bill you monthly, locking you into a contract. Furthermore, purchasing medicine online from unregulated, unlicensed sources can expose patients to potentially unsafe products that have not undergone appropriate evaluation or approval, or do not meet quality standards. Patients should only obtain drugs containing Semaglutide and Tirzepatide with a prescription from a licensed healthcare provider. At the lab we source our products only from Nationally Accredited compounding pharmacies , adhering to strict quality standards.
  • What are Semaglutide Injections?
Semaglutide belongs to a class of medications known as glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonists. This once weekly injection mimics the GLP-1 hormone that is released in the gastrointestinal tract in response to eating. One role of GLP-1 is to prompt the body to produce more insulin, which reduces blood glucose (sugar). Semaglutide also slows gastric emptying and interacts with the parts of the brain that reduce appetite and signal a feeling of fullness. The result is a powerful appetite suppressant.
  • What are Tirzepatide Injections?
Tirzepatide is the first dual action drug in its class. This once weekly injection acts as a glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist and a glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP) receptor agonist.GLP-1 and GIP are incretin hormones, which are released after eating. Tirzepatide works by mimicking their effects causing the pancreas to release insulin after eating and signaling the liver to lower the amount of glucose it’s making, which in turn helps lower blood sugar. Tirzepatide slows gastric emptying, decreases food intake and influences fat utilization which leads to weight loss.
  • What are Lipotropic injections? “Skinny Shot”
Lipotropic injections offer an excellent tool to aid in weight loss while also improving energy. The unique combination of B vitamins and amino acids improve liver detoxification, break down and release stored fat, and enhance metabolism. They also can improve mood and mental clarity, liver and gallbladder function, as well as aid in the preservation of lean body tissue (muscle) and enhance the absorption of essential nutrients.
